The big sky has turned gray.
There is gray everywhere.
Don't let kids go astray.
There's gray on every stair.
Big, dark and heavy clouds
Like Reaper's ghouls in crowds.

Winds like waves, streets like sea,
Twigs and ceilings fly free,
And the clouds swirl darkness.

And then it falls, falls, falls.
The large raindrops pelting,
Hitting the roofs, the walls.
In the cold winds, slanting.
The loud noise is steady.
Forming every eddy.

Winds like waves, streets like sea,
Twigs and ceilings fly free,
I can fly with an inside-out umbrella.

From the roofs, they're pouring,
O it's a water world.
Raincoats get a washing;
Inside, outside, behold!
If it'll rain like Wales,
I prolly should grow scales.

Winds like waves, streets like sea,
Twigs and ceilings fly free,
The sky pours, and it pours, and it pours.

Hours pass, nothing's changed.
Only the winds have come,
Swirling winds with sprinkles,
Tearing the trees undone.
A piece of roof flying;
Duck or we'll be dying!

Winds like waves, streets like sea,
Twigs and ceilings fly free,
The firetruck turns upside-down.

These pools around my toes
Have risen to my knees.
Grabbing hard on the poles,
The flood is taking me!
It took the dog away!
Save it another day!

Winds like waves, streets like sea,
Twigs and ceilings fly free,
The dog swam back home.

And it stayed, and it stayed, and it stayed.
