East/West

|
Charlene Delfin

Leave the self-inflicted sorrow
That’s required by an Elegy.
Drop all of the sarcastic tones
That’s required by an Irony.
Because it’s time for Carpe Diem,
The best one among all of them.

Poetry supports what is life
Like the sea reflects the blue sky.
There’s something witty, and sadness,
And there are a lot of changes.
For nothing else brings out the best
Than variety like east/west.
Nothing today won’t go away,
Ergo, we have to seize the day.
