The Streets

|
Charlene Delfin

He drives all day and almost all night.
Quiet, but many stories to tell.
If a car’s approaching, just stay right.
Slows down in a hope for passengers.

He will take you where you want to go.
If you’re a robber, may God help him.
If you’re good, at least, you didn’t walk;
At least, he’s earning some more money.

He knows the streets and he knows the people.
His job offers many things to know.
Accelerating; braking for toll.
And the taxi driver goes on slow.
