Who

Charlene Delfin
Thanks for spending great times with me
You are the greatest man I’ve seen
But there has been this one man here
Who reminds me of all evil.

Like a friend amidst the strangers
Like a flower among the weeds.
Who stands by you when no one cares?
When you are lost, who goes to leave?

I met him on troubled mornings
That turned to horrible evenings
His voice still bring back the nightmares
Fear, and life from the unfair
Raindrops touched his lips in sorrow
Nights that never had tomorrow

His face reminds of my defeat
I was messed up, and he was neat
Sometimes, I just can’t look at him
Reminds me of the worst I’ve seen
In my surprise, his shadow paused
His eyes reflected all my loss.

Like a friend amidst the strangers
Like a flower among the weeds.
Who stands by you when no one cares?
When you are lost, who goes to leave?

He brings back what I’d forget
But it’s something I don’t regret
Because they bring back the real me
And I recall him, how we’d meet
The one who helped to fight my fear
The reason why I am still here.

Like a friend amidst the strangers
Like a flower among the weeds.
Who stands by you when no one cares?
