Branches and Roots

|
Charlene Delfin

Humans have arms and legs; trees have branches and roots.
Trees make oxygen and fruits; humans basically make trash.
Humans need food; trees need food.
In what ways are humans better than trees? We must ask.
If only humans were trees; we would be useful.
Can we turn into trees? When the moon gets full?

But how will that be? Ask first.
Humans have brains; trees don’t have any.
Trees remain rooted to the Earth; humans go from east to west.
Trees are quiet; humans can speak loudly.
I see. Humans can’t be trees.
It can’t be; hemoglobin is not green.

But humans can be like trees; take little and give more.
Be useful, for it’s what life is for.
